Avid Technology Professionals in Maryland seeks a systems engineer to help define concepts of operations, document requirements, and develop use cases for system development.
The role emphasizes high-level system design, performance/interface specifications, and planning installation, integration, and acceptance tests. Entry is with a Bachelor's degree or degree plus 1 year of experience, with ABET coursework where applicable.
Perform systems engineering functions, including defining and documenting concept of operations, operational/system requirements, and use cases to support system development; performing high-level system design; specifying system/component performance and interface requirements; and developing installation, integration, and acceptance test plans. Continuously assess existing organizational processes and work products to ensure they best facilitate strategic and tactical efforts. Coordinate with customers, project teams, and related organizations to ensure solutions satisfy the requirements. Define and communicate a shared technical and architectural vision for the solutions developed by the product teams.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and no experience. OR (U) With a degree in a relevant technical field (for example, computer science, mathematics, or physics), entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 1 year of relevant experience.
For all of the above degrees, if program is not ABET accredited, it must include specified coursework.*
Relevant experience must be in engineering systems over their lifecycle (for example, conception, design & development, testing, production, distribution/deployment, operation, maintenance & support, decommissioning).
