Job summary

Avid Technology Professionals, LLC is seeking a systems engineer to define concepts of operations, capture requirements, and develop use cases to support system development.

You will perform high-level design, specify performance and interface requirements, and develop installation, integration, and acceptance test plans, coordinating with customers and project teams to ensure satisfaction with the solutions.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or related technical field is required.
• ABET accreditation is relevant if program is not ABET-accredited.
• Must cover specified coursework if non-ABET accredited.

Job description

Perform systems engineering functions, including defining and documenting concept of operations, operational/system requirements, and use cases to support system development; performing high-level system design; specifying system/component performance and interface requirements; and developing installation, integration, and acceptance test plans. Continuously assess existing organizational processes and work products to ensure they best facilitate strategic and tactical efforts. Coordinate with customers, project teams, and related organizations to ensure solutions satisfy the requirements. Define and communicate a shared technical and architectural vision for the solutions developed by the product teams.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus 10 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree plus 6 years of relevant experience.

Degree must be in Engineering or a relevant technical field (for example, computer science, mathematics, or physics).

For all of the above degrees, if program is not ABET accredited, it must include specified coursework.*

*Specified coursework includes courses in differential and integral calculus and 5 of the following 18 areas:

• (a) statics or dynamics
• (b) strength of materials/stress-strain relationships
• (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics
• (d) thermodynamics
• (e) electromagnetic fields
• (f) nature and properties of materials/relating particle and aggregate structure to properties
• (g) solid state electronics

Relevant experience must be in engineering systems over their lifecycle (for example, conception, design & development, testing, production, distribution/deployment, operation, maintenance & support, decommissioning).
