Job description

Kaizen Approach is currently seeking a System Engineer (SE) to analyze user requirements, concepts of operations, and high-level architectures to develop system specifications. In this role, you will lead design and development activities, guide users in formulating requirements, and explore alternative approaches. You’ll provide technical leadership for requirements integration, design, and technology. This position involves creating and managing system architecture and design documentation, as well as preparing system engineering and integration plans. You’ll be responsible for the technical integrity of work performed, addressing engineering considerations, and communicating effectively with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

Requirements
  • Must have the ability to contribute to systems engineering documentation, including System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents, to support system design and development.
  • Must possess the capability to manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure production systems align with defined architectures, such as the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Must be capable of assisting in developing system and functional requirements, allocating these to specific hardware, software, facility, and personnel components, and participating in interface definition, design, and configuration changes throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Must have the ability to coordinate the resolution of action items across disciplines from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews, ensuring collaboration and alignment.
  • Must possess the capability to define real-time process and error budgets for systems and subsystems, generate alternative system concepts and physical architectures, and create design solutions based on stakeholder needs and inferred functions.
  • Must be able to establish definitions for systems or components under development, including requirements, designs, interfaces, and test procedures, providing a common reference for hardware and software teams, as well as reviewing program structures such as work breakdown structures (WBS) and the integrated master plan (IMP).
  • Must have the ability to develop derived requirements for Information Assurance Services, including confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, and availability, and support security mechanisms like access control, cryptography, key management, and ensure verification processes meet these requirements through defined methods and criteria.
  • Must have seven (7) years of experience as a System Engineer (SE) on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university; however, five (5) additional years of SE experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required.

Salary Range: A variety of factors can impact the final salary offered, including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant work experience, specialized skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
