Job summary

CyberCore Technologies is seeking a System Engineer to support our web-based mission application and its users. You will work with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Grafana, and Jira/Confluence to ensure reliability and performance.

Responsibilities include testing, troubleshooting, deployments, user training, incident triage, and occasional CONUS/OCONUS travel; after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting web-based mission applications or similar enterprise software.
• Ability to test, troubleshoot, and triage operational issues in complex systems.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and monitoring dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Support the DevOps team in testing and troubleshooting the web application.
• Collaborate with operations and development teams to identify testing needs and develop test plans.
• Triage reported operational issues and monitor application health and metrics.
• Report issues via the ticketing system and participate in installations/upgrades.
• Provide operational support and/or training to users.
• Monitor Jira Service Desk tickets and respond as needed.
• Occasionally respond to after-hours calls and travel ~1–2 times per year.

Job description

As a System Engineer, you are responsible for providing support to our web-based mission application and its customers. This software product is a full life cycle software suite that provides audio & video ingest, storage, query, playback, analysis, and transcription features. Our application is used by national and tactical analysts on small systems (laptops) and large systems (server farms). You will be working with technologies including Amazon Web Services / VMs, Kubernetes, Docker, Grafana, Kabana, GitLab CI/CD, Jira, and Confluence.

Responsibilities:

• Support the DevOps team in testing and troubleshooting our web application
• Collaborate with operations and development teams to identify testing needs and develop test plans
• Triage reported operational issues
• Monitor Tier 1 application health and status metrics
• Report issues detected during testing or system usage via the ticketing system
• Perform system and application installations and upgrades
• Provide operational support and/or training to users
• Monitor and respond to application-related Jira Service Desk tickets
• Occasionally respond to mission-critical after-hours calls
• Participate in minor CONUS/OCONUS travel (~1–2 times per year)
