WOOD Federal Solutions, Inc. is seeking a System Engineer, Level 4, at Fort Meade, MD. This full-time role requires guiding complex systems through all lifecycle stages, aligning with Government stakeholders, and ensuring deliverables meet ISO/IEC 15288 standards.

A TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is mandatory. The position involves performing extensive engineering activities, developing work products, and coordinating with contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or related discipline plus 10 years of systems engineering experience.
• Master's/PhD degrees with 8 years of experience may substitute or add
• PhD or Masters with engineering focus accepted.

Salary Range: $188,300 to $203,300 per year

Starting salary is based on minimum education and years of experience and increases based on education and/or experience.

Overview: A System Engineer guides complex systems through every phase of the life cycle-ensuring each stage is engineered with clarity, rigor, and mission focus. They collaborate directly with Government stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain strong communication across teams and leadership. With accountability for the integrity and quality of all deliverables, they work across the full ISO/IEC 15288 framework, driving requirements, architecture, integration, verification, planning, risk, configuration, portfolio management, and acquisition/supply. This role puts your systems expertise at the center of missioncritical decisions-and empowers you to shape solutions that endure.

Security Clearance Requirements:

This position requires all candidates to be U.S. Citizens and possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of a work product in Technical Process Areas associated with the ISO/IEC 15288.
• Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of multiple work products in Project and/or Technical Process Areas associated with any of the ISO/IEC 15288 processes.
• Assist in performing systems engineering activities in the ISO/IEC 15288 Agreement or Enterprise Process Areas.
• Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations.
• Develop and deliver a work product in any of the ISO/IEC 15288 Process Areas.
• Perform systems engineering activities and develop and deliver work products of either the ISO/IEC 15288 Agreement or Enterprise Process Areas.
• Independently analyze, and recommend alternatives for elements of project's technical design.
• Perform systems engineering activities and develop and deliver work products in each of the ISO/IEC 15288 Project and Technical Process Areas.
• Supervise or coordinate the work of other contractor engineers or technicians on a project.
• Analyze and propose appropriate engineering standards and processes for a project.
• Assist in conducting an evaluation to determine its suitability for project implementation.
• Assist in developing a new or innovative approach to a technical or engineering issue.

Qualifications

Required Education & Years of Experience:

• A Bachelor's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus ten (10) years of systems engineering experience.
• A High School Diploma or GED and fourteen (14) years of general system engineering experience (any Process Area) may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
• A Master's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of systems engineering experience.
• A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of systems engineering experience.
