WOOD Federal Solutions, Inc. is seeking a System Engineer, Level 3 in San Antonio, TX to lead complex systems through all lifecycle phases—from concept to retirement—while coordinating with government partners and cross-functional teams.

The role requires a TS/SCI with a polygraph, a strong engineering background, and a track record of rigorous, disciplined systems engineering under the ISO/IEC 15288 framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field plus six years of systems engineering experience.
• Alternative: High School Diploma or GED with ten years of systems engineering experience.
• Master's degree with four years of systems engineering experience.
• PhD with four years of systems engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform ISO/IEC 15288 system engineering activities and prepare work products.
• Prepare outputs for multiple ISO/IEC 15288 processes across projects.
• Assist in ISO/IEC 15288 Agreement or Enterprise Process Areas.
• Analyze technical alternatives and provide preliminary recommendations.
• Develop and deliver work products in ISO/IEC 15288 Process Areas.

Salary Range: $132,100 to $147,100 per year

Salary note: Starting salary is based on minimum education and years of experience and increases based on education and/or experience.

Overview: System Engineer ensures complex systems are built with clarity, consistency, and technical discipline from start to finish. They guide systems through every phase-concept, development, production, utilization, support, and retirement-while navigating technical questions, resolving challenges with Government partners, and keeping communication flowing across teams and leadership. Their work spans the full ISO/IEC 15288 framework, shaping requirements, architecture, integration, verification, planning, risk, configuration, quality, and acquisition activities with precision. Security Clearance Requirements: U.S. Citizens and possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of a work product in Technical Process Areas associated with the ISO/IEC 15288.
• Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of multiple work products in Project and/or Technical Process Areas associated with any of the ISO/IEC 15288 processes.
• Assist in performing systems engineering activities in the ISO/IEC 15288 Agreement or Enterprise Process Areas.
• Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations.
• Develop and deliver a work product in any of the ISO/IEC 15288 Process Areas.
• Perform systems engineering activities and develop and deliver work products of either the ISO/IEC 15288 Agreement or Enterprise Process Areas.
• Independently analyze, and recommend alternatives for elements of project's technical design.
• Perform systems engineering activities and develop and deliver work products in each of the ISO/IEC 15288 Project and Technical Process Areas.

Qualifications

Required Education & Years of Experience:

• A Bachelor's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus six (6) years of systems engineering experience.
  OR
• A High School Diploma or GED and ten (10) years of general system engineering experience (any Process Area) may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
  OR
• A Master's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience.
  OR
• A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience.
