  • Minimum 9 years of relevant systems engineering experience on complex IT or DoD systems.
  • Experience in systems engineering, architecture development, RMF, cybersecurity accreditation, and compliance.
  • Experience in Agile environments and requirements management.
  • Experience with technical reviews and engineering governance forums.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to brief senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform systems engineering analysis for complex DoD information systems, including evaluation, verification, and validation.
  • Develop, review, and maintain system architectures and engineering artifacts in DoDAF or approved formats.
  • Conduct technical reviews of contractor deliverables and provide improvement recommendations.
  • Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies across lifecycle phases.
  • Support RMF and system authorization activities, including documentation development and maintenance.
  • Provide recommendations on security best practices to support authorization, audits, and assessments.
  • Coordinate with security engineers, DISA, and government stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Review and support Agile requirements ensuring traceability to architecture and security.
  • Facilitate or support Agile governance forums (CCBs, ST/ARTs, RRBs, TIMs).
  • Provide analytical support to requirements and engineering review boards.
  • Participate in engineering milestone reviews such as SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and ORR.

Salary Range: $120,000.00 To $130,000.00 Annually

The Systems Engineer IV provides senior-level technical and systems engineering support to the JTMS Joint Program Office, with a primary focus on systems engineering, cybersecurity/RMF accreditation, Agile requirements coordination, and governance support. This role supports both the Systems Engineering and Testing Branch and the Chief Scientist function, ensuring systems are engineered, secured, accredited, and managed in alignment with DoD, USTRANSCOM, and program-level requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform systems engineering analysis for complex DoD information systems, including evaluation, verification, and validation of existing and emerging solutions.
  • Develop, review, and maintain system architectures and engineering artifacts in DoDAF or other government-approved formats.
  • Conduct technical reviews of contractor-produced deliverables and provide recommendations to improve system performance, reliability, and security.
  • Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies across system lifecycle phases.
  • Support RMF and system authorization activities, including development, review, and maintenance of accreditation documentation.
  • Provide recommendations on security best practices to support system authorization, audits, technical assessments, and sustainment.
  • Coordinate with security engineers, developers, DISA, and government stakeholders to resolve security and compliance issues.
  • Review and support Agile requirements, ensuring traceability and alignment with system architecture and security requirements.
  • Facilitate or support Agile governance forums, including CCBs, ST/ARTs, RRBs, and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs).
  • Provide analytical and administrative support to requirements and engineering review boards.
  • Participate in engineering milestone reviews such as SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and ORR.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 9 years of relevant systems engineering experience supporting complex IT or DoD systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Systems engineering and architecture development
    • RMF, cybersecurity accreditation, and compliance activities
    • Agile environments and requirements management
    • Technical reviews and engineering governance forums
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience briefing senior government stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and lead technical discussions across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience working across technical, functional, financial, and administrative teams
  • Ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
  • Experience supporting or implementing ERP solutions delivered via a SaaS model in a DoD or Federal environment
  • Knowledge of ERP-driven business process reengineering and configuration-based solution design
  • Experience with system integration, data migration, and master data management in ERP environments
  • Familiarity with RMF, cloud security, and FedRAMP considerations for SaaS solutions
  • Experience supporting Agile or SAFe governance for COTS/SaaS implementations
  • Experience supporting USTRANSCOM, Combatant Command, or other DoD PMO environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of DevSecOps, cloud technologies, and secure system design.
  • Experience supporting Agile Release Trains (ARTs) or SAFe-based environments.
  • Familiarity with system testing, audits, and sustainment activities.
