System Engineer

Position type: Full-time, Contract
Duration: 12 months

Responsibilities

• Administer Linux servers for hosting applications, ensuring system security, performance, and reliability.
• Knowledge of automation / DevOps tools – Ansible, Jenkins, Bitbucket.
• Develop dashboards with Grafana to monitor real‑time logs, server health checks, etc.
• Perform spike/proof‑of‑concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
• Troubleshoot and analyze issues with failed deployments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in Bash scripting and Python.
• Experience with automation tools and CI/CD pipelines.
• Unix background with experience supporting containerized applications (Podman, Docker, OpenShift, or Kubernetes).
• Understanding of storage and data replication platforms: CEPH, Ozone, HDFS.
• Strong understanding of Unix/Linux principles and security.
• Drive data visualization and analytics initiatives using Tableau, Grafana, and Apache Superset.
• DevOps Practices.
• In‑depth knowledge of relational databases Postgres.
• Experience with Hadoop.

Pay Range*: $55/hr – $60 per hour
Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
