Job summary

Carter Murray is seeking a System Engineer to act as a key technical liaison between customers and internal engineering teams. This role supports battery system and electrification programs through coordination, requirements management, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will work with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program management to ensure successful product development and customer projects, including prototype development, testing, and field support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Several years of experience in automotive, electrification, energy storage, or lithium-ion battery industry.
• Knowledge of requirements management and product development processes (IATF 16949, APQP, V-Model).
• Technical expertise in lithium-ion battery systems, energy storage, and/or EV powertrains.
• Experience with engineering analysis tools such as CANalyzer and MATLAB.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.

We are seeking a System Engineer to serve as a key technical liaison between customers and internal engineering teams. This role is responsible for supporting battery system and electrification programs through technical coordination, project support, requirements management, and cross-functional collaboration.

This position works closely with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program management teams to ensure successful execution of product development and customer projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and technical project management for battery system programs.
• Develop technical layouts, concepts, and proposals in response to customer requirements and inquiries.
• Coordinate system interfaces across internal departments and act as a technical point of contact for customers.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and engineering reports.
• Coordinate with teams across multiple locations to improve project efficiency and execution.
• Support structured root cause analysis and resolution of component and system performance issues.
• Utilize engineering analysis and development tools to support project activities.
• Provide technical support across various functions within the organization.
• Assist with product commissioning activities internally and at customer locations, both onsite and remotely.
• Support prototype development, integration, testing, and validation activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

Required

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Several years of experience in the automotive, electrification, energy storage, or lithium-ion battery industry.
• Knowledge of requirements management and product development processes, including IATF 16949, APQP, V-Model, or similar methodologies.
• Technical expertise in lithium-ion battery systems, energy storage systems, and/or electric vehicle powertrains.
• Understanding of advanced quality planning and quality assurance practices within engineering and product development environments.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and engineering analysis tools such as CANalyzer, MATLAB, or similar software.
• Experience supporting public transportation platforms, such as school buses or other commercial transit vehicles, is preferred.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
