Insight Global is seeking a seasoned Systems Engineer to own the requirements verification traceability across the program, from high-level requirements to subsystem allocations and test demonstrations.

You will maintain the baseline as design evolves, perform impact analysis on requirement changes, and ensure test activities align with verification items for key milestones. Travel up to 15% may be required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of systems engineering experience with direct ownership of requirements or verification traceability.
• Experience with MBSE and SysML for requirements traceability within a model.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience building or maintaining a verification matrix on a hardware program.

Responsibilities

Job description

This Systems Engineer will own the requirements verification traceability matrix for a maritime autonomous vehicle, maintaining the thread from program requirements through subsystem allocation to the specific test or analysis demonstrating that each requirement has been met.

The requirements baseline and test campaign will both be in motion. This role will maintain traceability as the design evolves, assess the verification impact of requirements changes, and ensure completed test activities map appropriately to verification items.

What You’ll Do

• Own the requirements verification traceability matrix end to end.
• Maintain allocation from program requirements through subsystem specifications.
• Define the verification method for each requirement, including test, analysis, inspection, or demonstration.
• Track verification status and report closure against program milestones.
• Perform change-impact analysis when requirements or interfaces change.
• Write and review requirements for testability and correctness.
• Partner with the MBSE Engineer to maintain requirements traceability within the model.
• Partner with the T&E Lead to ensure test evidence maps cleanly to verification items.
• Prepare verification artifacts for design reviews and customer milestones.
• Work with program leadership to track developmental milestones.
• Work with design and manufacturing engineers to define objective and measurable requirements.
• Travel up to 15% to test sites and operational locations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of systems engineering experience with direct ownership of requirements or verification traceability.
• Experience with requirements-management tools such as DOORS, Jama, Polarion, or equivalent.
• Experience building or maintaining a verification matrix on a hardware program.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AUV, UUV, submarine, spacecraft, or aircraft programs.
• Experience with MBSE and SysML, particularly requirements traceability within a model.
• Experience supporting formal verification reviews or customer milestone deliveries.
• Experience using Python or SQL for traceability reporting and data extraction.
• Experience supporting a program while its requirements baseline was still being developed.
• Experience automating requirements validation and closure.

Compensation:

$90HR- $95HR

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
