The role requires an active secret clearance, ~5 years of systems engineering/AutoCAD experience, and familiarity with NAVWAR standards and shore installation processes. Travel ~10% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Proficient AutoCAD with drawings such as network interconnectivity diagrams, floor plans, elevations, building plans, landscapes, maps, electrical and mechanical details.
  • NAVWAR/C4I shore installation upgrades experience and familiarity with SIPH and NAVWAR IRD Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop installation drawings (IRD, IDP, As-Built) with AutoCAD support.
  • Review IRDs, IDPs, and As-Builts for SIPH and IRD compliance.
  • Conduct surveys of Navy shore platforms to support drawing development.
  • Assess shore installation issues related to IRDs, IDPs, and As-Built drawings and SIPH compliance.
  • Handle data calls: research, gather, sort, and present information.

PMW 790 acquires and supports shore-based and expeditionary C4I systems that keep the Fleet connected worldwide. The program provides systems engineering, logistics, installation management, and integration support to deliver interoperable, network-centric capabilities while ensuring Navy shore infrastructure is aligned with shipboard C4I systems to support current operations and future Fleet modernization.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Systems Engineer prepares, updates, and reviews AutoCAD shore installation drawings (IRDs, IDPs, and As-Builts) in accordance with NAVWAR standards, ensuring accuracy and consistency prior to customer submission on the PMW 790 Shore and Expeditionary Integration Program Office Planning and Logistics Support Services contract. This position is located in San Diego, CA.

What You'll Do
  • Develop, with the support of AutoCAD specialists, the technical requirements of Installation Requirements Drawings (IRD), Installation Design Plans (IDP), and As-Built drawings.
  • Review IRDs, IDPs, and As-Builts to ensure compliance with applicable standards (SIPH and IRD), and to ensure hardware installations are documented in detail and provide necessary guidance for a successful installation.
  • Conduct surveys of Navy shore platforms in support of drawing development efforts.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of shore installation issues relating to IRDs, IDPs, and As Built Drawings and their compliance with the IRD Standard and the Shore Installation Process Handbook (SIPH).
  • Be responsible to various data calls to provide requested information, including research, gathering, sorting and presentation.
  • Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts and Project Engineers and provide reporting to Task Leads.
  • Utilize and provide feedback to established Standards, company templates and SOPs.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • Five (5) years of experience providing systems engineering and/or AutoCAD support.
  • Functional knowledge and completed course of instruction for AutoCAD software and familiar with traditional drafting methods.
  • Experience in creating AutoCAD drawings such as network interconnectivity diagrams, floor plans, elevations, building plans, landscapes, maps, electrical, electronic, and mechanical details.
  • Experience updating existing AutoCAD drawing "red lines" to current state. U.S. Navy and/or NAVWAR Command Control Computer Communications and Intelligence (C4I) background related to shore installation upgrades.
  • Experience with Naval Information Warfare Command (NAVWAR) SYSCOM PEO Integrated Data Environment and Repository (SPIDER).
  • Familiarity with Shore Installation Process Handbook and NAVWAR IRD Standard, and FRCB process.
  • Familiarity with networking diagrams, concepts, and components.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Dynamic Blocks and Attributes.
  • Requires organization skills including the ability to communicate complex ideas visually.
  • Ability to apply basic math skills to compute scaling and formulas.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret technical documents.
  • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Travel Required ~10% travel required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.

INDUS aims to provide a competitive compensation package, including a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 per year. The pay range for this role considers job-related knowledge, skills, work location, education and training, and certifications.
