Job summary

INDUS Technology, Inc. is seeking an ICT Project Manager to lead installation coordination for Combat Systems on Aircraft Carriers and Amphibious ships.

Located in San Diego, CA and Chesapeake, VA, the position requires an active secret clearance, a Bachelor's degree, and 5 years of Navy combat systems integration experience.

Qualifications

  • Active secret clearance required.

  • Five years of experience providing systems engineering and combat systems integration support in a U.S. Navy environment.
  • Expert knowledge of Aircraft Carrier and Amphibious Ship Integrated Combat Systems (SSDS).
  • Understanding of relationships between ISEA, TYCOM, Program Offices, Ship's Platform Manager, and Ship's Force.
  • Strong working knowledge of ICT activities, Combat Systems Engineering functions, and Life Cycle Maintenance & Modernization.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct engineering studies, testing and certifications, attend design reviews, perform land-based or operational Test & Evaluation events, and analyze maintenance/repair of the ICS.
  • Prepare formal reports, studies and documents which are properly organized, accurate, and effective.
  • Direct development of test documentation such as Overall Combat Systems Operability Test (OCSOT) to assess SSDS ICS readiness of deployed ships.
  • Develop tests in coordination with Ship's Force, CNAF, ISEA personnel, and contractors for assessing combat readiness of Aircraft Carriers and Amphibious Ships.
  • Plan, manage and accomplish complex projects in support of Aircraft Carrier or Amphibious Ship Combat Systems Engineering, Testing, and ILS.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

INDUS supports the planning, coordination, and installation activities of Combat System and Command, Control, Communications, Computer, and Intelligence (C5I) Systems in aircraft carriers, and other strike group or strike force units (including but not limited to LHA, LHD, LPD, and other L-Class units). Our team is directly responsible for supporting the planning, budgeting, and execution of New Construction (SCN) testing and modernization efforts in support of the Modernization and Installation Department (N Department), Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division (PHD).

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Installation Coordination Team (ICT) Project Manager tracks and coordinates installations in support of maintenance, modernization, and availability activities on amphibious ships. The ICT PM supports New Ship Construction (SCN) and Selected Restricted Availability (SRA) activities for CVN/L-Class ships on the CVN/L-Class Support Services contract. The ideal candidate has extensive technical knowledge in Aircraft Carrier and/or Amphibious Ship Combat Systems testing.

Positions are located in San Diego, CA and Chesapeake, VA.

  • Prepare formal reports, studies and documents which are properly organized, accurate, and effective.
  • Direct development of test documentation such as Overall Combat Systems Operability Test (OCSOT) to assess Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) Integrated Combat System (ICS) readiness of deployed ships.
  • Develop tests in coordination with Ship's Force, Commander Naval Air Forces (CNAF), In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) personnel, and contractors for the purpose of assessing combat readiness of Aircraft Carriers and Amphibious Ships, ship's systems, and Ship's Force.
  • Plan, manage and accomplish complex projects in support of Aircraft Carrier or Amphibious Ship Combat Systems Engineering, Testing, and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS).
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required.
  • Five (5) years of experience providing systems engineering and combat systems integration support in a U.S. Navy environment is required.
  • Expert knowledge of Aircraft Carrier and Amphibious Ship Integrated Combat Systems (specifically SSDS).
  • An understanding of the working inter-relationships between the ISEA, TYCOM, Program Offices, Ship's Platform Manager, and Ship's Force.
  • Strong working knowledge of Installation Coordination Team (ICT) activities, Combat Systems Engineering functions, and the organizational responsibilities of activities associated with the Life Cycle Maintenance & Modernization of Aircraft Carriers and Amphibious Ships.
  • Knowledge of the availability and proper use of resources and ability to apply the applicable planning, scheduling, and coordinating methods to a project.
  • Able to organize and present thoughts, plans and results in a clear and concise manner in both formal and informal situations and to communicate complex concepts both orally and in written form to a broad spectrum of high level military and civilian personnel.
  • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.

Desired Qualifications
  • An understanding of project management concepts (planning, organizing, controlling, and advising) in order to provide recommendations to various activities supporting Aircraft Carrier and Amphibious Ship maintenance/modernization desired.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
  • The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, or recurring and considerable walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing such as performing regular shop activities, inspections, or to observe and study operations in an industrial or comparable work area, or on-board ships, submarines, and/or in weapon facilities.

INDUS aims to provide a competitive compensation package, including a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is $85,000 - $105,000. This position is eligible to participate in our corporate 401(k) and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) programs, and may be eligible for performance bonuses, and other rewards and benefits (see more about our compensation package and benefits offered at Culture @ INDUS | INDUS Technology). The pay range for this role considers job-related knowledge, skills, work location, education and training, and certifications.
