Job summary

VDart Inc. seeks a System Engineer for a hybrid Jersey City, NJ position with onsite work as needed. The engagement starts as a 6-month contract to hire, offering exposure to enterprise IT in a fast-paced environment.

You will manage Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Azure and M365, enforce security and identity controls (Entra ID), support virtualization, backup, recovery, and monitoring tools, and script with PowerShell to automate tasks while documenting configurations and outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
3 to 5+ years of experience in systems administration, systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a similar enterprise IT role.
Strong experience administering Microsoft Windows Server environments.
Experience supporting Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related Microsoft infrastructure technologies.
Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based infrastructure.
Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid identity environments.
Experience supporting enterprise virtualization technologies.
Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, storage, and general enterprise networking concepts.
Experience with enterprise backup and recovery technologies.
Experience using PowerShell for systems administration or automation.
Experience with enterprise infrastructure monitoring and management tools.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Ability to troubleshoot problems across multiple systems and technology platforms.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong documentation and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and technical priorities.
