Job summary

EPITEC is seeking a Feature Systems – Software Systems Developer to drive vehicle features from concept through production in a hybrid role in Michigan. The ideal candidate brings automotive systems engineering expertise and embedded software experience, with strong MBSE and requirements development skills.

Responsibilities include leading feature development, creating system architectures and DFMEAs, and ensuring verification within the V-Model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of Automotive Systems Engineering experience.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience with complex embedded systems.
• Experience developing automotive features from concept through production.
• Hands-on experience with DFMEAs and System Boundary Diagrams.
• Strong understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model.
• Experience writing engineering requirements and functional/implementation specifications.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, including CAN communication, networking, wiring, power distribution, body systems, and chassis systems.

Now Hiring: Feature Systems – Software Systems Developer | Automotive

Location: Hybrid: 4 days onsite, Monday–Thursday

We are seeking a highly technical Feature Systems – Software Systems Developer to support the development of next-generation vehicle features from concept through production.

This is not primarily a software testing or validation position. We are looking for an engineer with strong Automotive Systems Engineering and embedded software experience who can help define feature behavior, develop system architecture, translate customer needs into technical requirements, and drive features through the complete development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead vehicle feature development from concept through production integration
• Develop system and logical architectures using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Write technical requirements, functional specifications, and software implementation requirements
• Create System Boundary Diagrams and DFMEAs
• Develop verification plans and support software implementation

• Experience leading cross-functional engineering decisions and technical trade-offs
