Job summary

EPITEC is seeking a Feature Systems – Software Systems Developer to drive vehicle features from concept through production in a hybrid role in Michigan. The ideal candidate brings automotive systems engineering expertise and embedded software experience, with strong MBSE and requirements development skills.

Responsibilities include leading feature development, creating system architectures and DFMEAs, and ensuring verification within the V-Model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of Automotive Systems Engineering experience.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience with complex embedded systems.
• Experience developing automotive features from concept through production.
• Hands-on experience with DFMEAs and System Boundary Diagrams.
• Strong understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model.
• Experience writing engineering requirements and functional/implementation specifications.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, including CAN communication, networking, wiring, power distribution, body systems, and chassis systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead vehicle feature development from concept through production integration.
• Develop system and logical architectures using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Write technical requirements, functional specifications, and software implementation requirements.
• Create System Boundary Diagrams and DFMEAs.
• Develop verification plans and support software implementation.
• Work within the Systems Engineering V-Model.
• Support Functional Safety and Cybersecurity assessments.
• Collaborate across software, electrical, mechanical, controls, and vehicle integration teams.
• Lead technical discussions and resolve complex cross-functional engineering issues.
