Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. in Poway, CA, is seeking a System Development & Test (SD&T) Engineer to join our test and evaluation team working on unmanned platforms and advanced systems.

You will perform T&E activities, coordinate test plans, and collaborate with systems, project, and software engineers. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, DoD clearance eligibility, and up to 25% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field from an accredited institution; equivalent engineering experience may substitute.
• Prior Test & Integration experience for manned and/or unmanned aircraft platforms desired.
• Ability to obtain and maintain US DoD clearance.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Must be able to work independently and in a team.
• An EIT (Engineer in Training) certificate is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform Test & Evaluation activities and develop approaches to achieve T&E goals.
• Act as test engineer during test operations, including SIL, ground, and flight tests.
• Support test plan working groups, technical reviews, and safety reviews.
• Collaborate with systems/project/software engineering on documentation.
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally during flight test programs.
• May present technical information to project staff.
• Identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and aid in developing solutions to test and integration issues.
• Observe all laws and regulations and follow established procedures.
