Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the development and sustainment of ground support equipment for unmanned aircraft systems. You will own design tasks, perform FEA analysis, and generate technical documentation while coordinating with manufacturing, quality, and program management.

Extensive CAD, GD&T, and DoD clearance readiness are required, with opportunities to travel to GA-ASI facilities for development and testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in engineering from an accredited institution.
• 9+ years with a bachelor’s, 7+ with a master’s, or 4+ with a PhD; substitute equivalent engineering experience.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to obtain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and develop GSE product designs using 3D CAD (Siemens NX/Creo).
• Perform structural analysis with FEA (ANSYS) for design loads.
• Prepare engineering drawings, memos, specifications, and test procedures per procedures.
• Lead and direct designers/drafters; interface with customers and stakeholders.
• Support manufacturing, test, and quality groups during production and acceptance.
