Job summary

Bosch Group in Minnesota seeks a system-level design engineer for its ACS (Air-Conditioning Service) products. You will architect electro-mechanical systems and draft high-level design documentation covering software, hardware and controls interactions to ensure on-time, on-spec delivery.

You will collaborate with a cross-functional team, perform design analyses and FMEAs, support certifications, and lead project documentation.

Qualifications

  • Four year Engineering degree, BSEE preferred.
  • Experience with system-level design of electro-mechanical products.
  • Cross-functional collaboration and strong documentation skills.
  • Experience with product certifications (UL/CE) preferred.

Job description

This position is responsible for the system level design of the ACS (Air-Conditioning Service) products. This will include the high level design documentation for electro-mechanical systems and components, including interactions between the software, hardware, and mechanical components, such as motors, sensors, switches, and controls. The candidate will work closely with a cross functional team to deliver products on-time, on-spec, and on-budget. To be successful, the candidate must be innovative, creative, detail oriented, comfortable working from a vision, and comfortable working in a fast-pace environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Conceptualize and document system level architecture design of the AC service products.
  • Create system level design documentation.
  • Coordinate testing and documentation required to achieve and maintain product certifications (UL, CE, etc.)
  • Create test plans and reports to validate design concepts.
  • Troubleshoot problems to assist with manufacturing or reduce warranty costs.
  • Team leadership – lead the project team to be creative, accurate, detailed, and professional.
  • Perform design analysis and FMEAs on system designs to assure form, fit, function, and safety.
  • Maintain project documentation, i.e. design reviews, FMEAs, design specifications, wiring diagrams, test plans, etc.
  • Represent the Design Engineering Team with professionalism and integrity when communicating with the Customer, cross functional teams and the entire organization.
  • Takes full responsibility for providing the customer (internal and external) with service and products (documentation, prototypes, etc.) that exceed customers' expectations.
Qualifications
  • Four year Engineering degree, BSEE preferred
  • 3+ years related experience preferred.
  • Proven design skills, utilizing knowledge of similar product.
  • Proficiency in PC skills; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.), CAD experience (Solidworks) preferred, Labview preferred.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment. Experience working with global/international teams also highly desirable.
  • Previous experience with product certifications (UL) preferred.Good oral and written communication skills with solid documentation skills
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects keeping accurate documentation and records
  • Ability to work well with challenging individuals and customers

The U.S. base salary range for this full‑time position is $99,900 - $116,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.
