Job summary

Bosch Group in Minnesota seeks an experienced Design Engineer to lead system-level architecture for ACS products. You will document designs, coordinate certification testing, and develop test plans while guiding a cross-functional team to timely, on-spec delivery.

The role requires a four-year engineering degree, strong design skills, and experience with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Benefits include comprehensive health plans and 401(k) contributions.

Qualifications

  • Four year Engineering degree, BSEE preferred.
  • 3+ years related experience preferred.
  • Proven design skills, utilizing knowledge of similar product.
  • Proficiency in PC skills; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, etc), CAD experience (Solidworks) preferred, Labview preferred.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment. Experience working with global/international teams also highly desirable.
  • Previous experience with product certifications (UL) preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills with solid documentation skills
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects keeping accurate documentation and records
  • Ability to work well with challenging individuals and customers

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and document system level architecture design of the AC service products.
  • Create system level design documentation.
  • Coordinate testing and documentation required to achieve and maintain product certifications (UL, CE, etc.)
  • Create test plans and reports to validate design concepts.
  • Troubleshoot problems to assist with manufacturing or reduce warranty costs.
  • Team leadership - lead the project team to be creative, accurate, detailed, and professional.
  • Perform design analysis and FMEA's on system designs to assure form, fit, function, and safety.
  • Maintain project documentation, i.e. design reviews, FMEAs, design specifications, wiring diagrams, test plans, etc.
  • Represent the Design Engineering Team with professionalism and integrity when communicating with the Customer, Cross Functional Teams and the entire organization.
  • Takes full responsibility for providing the customer (internal and external) with service and products (documentation, prototypes, etc.) that exceed customer’s expectations.

Job Description

This position is responsible for the system level design of the ACS (Air-Conditioning Service) products. This will include the high level design documentation for electro-mechanical systems and components, including interactions between the software, hardware, and mechanical components, such as motors, sensors, switches, and controls. The candidate will work closely with a cross functional team to deliver products on-time, on-spec, and on-budget. To be successful, the candidate must be innovative, creative, detail oriented, comfortable working from a vision, and comfortable working in a fast-pace environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $99,900 - $116,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.
