Job summary

Staffmark is seeking a System Assembly Technician in Eden Prairie, MN. The role involves assembling, configuring, installing, and repairing mechanical and hydraulic testing systems per engineering specs.

Required are 5+ years in mechanical assembly, strong hydraulic knowledge, and ability to read drawings and BOMs. Expect cross-functional collaboration, on-site work, and a focus on quality, safety, and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of mechanical assembly experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, hydraulic systems, or related environments.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, flow characteristics, tube and hose sizing, sealing methods, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Experience assembling, repairing, installing, and testing complex mechanical systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, configure, install, and repair mechanical and hydraulic testing systems according to engineering specifications.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, BOMs, and technical documentation to ensure accurate system assembly.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair new and customer-owned equipment to restore performance and reliability.
  • Disassemble systems, identify root causes of failures, estimate repair requirements, and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve processes, documentation accuracy, and product quality.
  • Install, service, and support equipment at customer sites while providing professional customer service and technical expertise.
  • Maintain quality, safety, and production standards while documenting repairs, modifications, and process improvements.

Pay Rate: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour (Depending on experience)
4-10 hour shifts or 5-8 hours shifts

Education Requirements
  • Associate degree, technical certification, military training, or trade school education in mechanics, hydraulics, electronics, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and hands‑on mechanical experience will be considered.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, hydraulic schematics, and manufacturing documentation.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of mechanical assembly experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, hydraulic systems, or related environments.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, flow characteristics, tube and hose sizing, sealing methods, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Experience assembling, repairing, installing, and testing complex mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of actuators, hydraulic power units (HPUs), and integrated mechanical systems preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and support cross‑functional teams.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
  • Capable of lifting, carrying, and moving mechanical components, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to travel and work at customer locations as required.
  • Manual dexterity to assemble precision components and perform mechanical repairs.
  • Comfortable working in manufacturing, shop, and field service environments while following all safety guidelines.
