Responsibilities

• Employ solution architecture and system engineering principles to analyze, design, and specify across architecture activities including data gathering, requirements definition, use case development, gap analysis, functional specs, test plans, risk assessments, and design documentation.
• Draft and revise policies and procedures aligned with organizational and enterprise objectives, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
• Perform advanced architecture work in design, evaluation, planning, testing, and operation to support system development and research.
• Collaborate with senior technical and program managers, and external organizations on complex technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain systems engineering documentation and diagrams/models.
• Lead the creation of business process maps using standard methodologies and tools.

Role: Policy Governance and Standards Systems Architect

Please note this role seeks a TS, SCI Eligible Clearance.

The Policy Governance and Standards Systems Architect supporting critical customer for architecting, designing, and driving the adoption of different architectural methodologies across the organization. The candidate will also play a key role in defining and implementing enterprise policies, governance, and standards. In this role, you will integrate with other Directorates to ensure that the organization's infrastructure supports the efficient and secure delivery of products and services.

Responsibilities

• Employ solution architecture and system engineering principles, processes, methods, models, artifacts, and tools to accomplish analysis, problem evaluation/diagnosis, and solution design across a variety of Systems Engineering / Architecture activities, including data gathering, requirements definition, use case development, gap analysis, functional specification creation, test plan development, test preparation, risk assessment and mitigation planning, and authoring of design specifications.
• Assist in drafting new policies and procedures, revising existing ones, and ensuring they are aligned with the organizational and enterprise-wide strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
• Perform complex and advanced architecture work in design, evaluation, planning, testing, and operation in support of system development, engineering analysis, and research as needed.
• Work directly with senior technical and non-technical personnel, program managers, and external organizations in the planning, oversight, execution, and evaluation of multiple complex technical solutions related to a program's system and technical product development.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of systems engineering documentation and diagrams/models.
• Lead the development of business process maps using a standard methodology and toolset.

Required qualifications

• Must have an active DoW TOP SECRET with SCI (TS/SCI) clearance. May also be SCI eligible which is possessing SCI within the last six (6) months.
• Ideally a Master's degree in related field and 12 years related experience.
• Experience with preparing executive presentations.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal oral communication skills.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Detail-oriented and excellent time-management skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred qualifications

• Solid experience in enterprise and/or systems architecture development – DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF); Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
• Solid experience reviewing architecture artifacts and supporting the development of architecture related products within the Department of War.
• Modeling and Simulation experience.
• Experience with federal organizations and interacting with senior civilian and military personnel.
