Akima Data Management (ADM), an Akima company, is seeking a System Administrator to join our Pentagon team on site. You will maintain OS and related software, implement standards, and support network operations in a high-security environment with DoD clearance.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 5+ years of experience.
• DoD 8140 Certification required.
• 5 years of experience with network drawings, installation support, and monitoring.
• 5 years of experience with TCP/IP in SDN design.
• Onsite work Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Schedules, performs, and monitors backups and data recoveries.

• Works under general supervision and handles moderately complex issues.

• Administers, develops, runs tests, implements, and maintains operating system and related software.
• Establishes and implements standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters.
• Troubleshoots and resolves software, operating system, and networking problems.
• Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and performs data recoveries.
• Recommends hardware and software upgrades according to growth statistics and disk space forecasts.
• Configures hardware, such as workstations, printers, servers, and tape devices.
• Provides technical support for system users.
• Performs work under general supervision.
• Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

Qualifications

• An active DoD Secret clearance is required.
• Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Telecommunications, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• DoD 8140 Certification required.
• Demonstrate 5 years of experience in producing, managing, and maintaining network architectural drawings and schematic diagrams.
• Demonstrate 5 years of experience providing installation support for network applications.
• Demonstrate 5 years of experience performing network monitoring of the network to include all assets.
• Demonstrate 5 years of experience providing technical support, advice and troubleshooting for utility network operations with a 99.999% target network uptime.
• Demonstrate 5 years of experience producing documentation for use in configuration, repair and troubleshooting of hardware, software and network operating systems.
• Demonstrate 5 years working with TCP/IP in Software Defined Network (SDN) design.
• Demonstrate 5 years of experience troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management.
• Demonstrate 5 years of experience installing and configuring network equipment.
• Must be able to work onsite Monday through Friday.
