Job summary

Ctrl+ is a software engineering and staffing firm based in Elkridge, MD, providing IT solutions and DoD program support. The System Administrator (SA) 3 will own mission‑critical IT systems, troubleshoot, and maintain operations for client environments in Columbia.

The role requires administering Linux/Unix systems, Kubernetes clusters, and clustered storage (Ceph), with tools like Puppet and Ansible, while following change control procedures and working with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related discipline.
• 15 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience.
• Active Top Secret clearance with CI polygraph within the last 7 years.

Responsibilities

• Manage IT system infrastructure and related processes.
• Support day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution across client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
• Provide Tier 3 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
• Escalate and communicate status updates to agency management and internal customers.
• Support the dispatch system and hardware problem resolution process from start to finish.
• Work with container technology, including administering large software deployments on Linux/Unix systems, administering clustered storage solutions (Ceph), managing Kubernetes‑orchestrated containers, using Puppet/Ansible, and overseeing change control processes.

Are you ready to take ownership of mission-critical IT systems and make a real impact? We're looking for a skilled System Administrator (SA) 3 to join our team in Columbia providing hands‑on support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems that keep our clients' operations running smoothly.

What You'll Do

• Manage IT system infrastructure and all related processes
• Support day‑to‑day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution across client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices
• Provide Tier 3 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution
