What You’ll Be Doing (The Big Picture)

As our Entry-Level Help Desk Technician, you are the first line of defense for our technical support operations! You’ll serve as an essential problem solver, taking incoming help desk calls, resolving support tickets, and ensuring our clients have a seamless technology experience. From imaging PCs and setting up user workstations to monitoring system alerts, managing Active Directory permissions, and assisting with installations, you’ll play a key role in keeping our systems and clients running smoothly every day.

Your Core Responsibilities

1. End-User Support & Day-to-Day Troubleshooting

• Answer incoming help desk phones, log detailed ticket notes, and respond to end-user support requests promptly and professionally.
• Perform first-level troubleshooting for Microsoft Windows in domain environments, Office 365, Google Workspace, and anti-virus applications.
• Manage file/folder permissions, user accounts, and basic configurations within Active Directory and Group Policy.

2. Workstation Setup & Deployment Assistance

• Image PCs and configure desktop workstations, laptops, printers, scanners, and copiers for end-users.
• Assist senior technical teams with technology upgrades, network deployments, and hardware/software implementations.
• Provide both remote and periodic on-site assistance to resolve local hardware, cabling, and wiring needs.

3. Alert Monitoring & Systems Hygiene

• Actively monitor incoming system alerts, conduct initial research, resolve routine issues, and elevate complex incidents to upper-tier engineering teams when required.
• Maintain squeaky-clean records, documenting technical solutions, updating service requests, and keeping configuration logs current.
• Participate in a rotational on-call schedule to support critical client needs and maintain strict service level agreements (SLAs).

The Workspace & Environment

This is a remote-friendly position that may require occasional local travel for on-site hardware deployments, workstation setups, or equipment replacements. You should be comfortable managing multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, communicating clearly over the phone and via chat, and maintaining a positive, customer-first attitude.

Requirements

What You Bring to the Table

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required (Associate Degree in Information Technology or a related field preferred).
• Technical Fundamentals: Hands-on familiarity or entry-level experience supporting Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Group Policy, Office 365, and Google Workspace.
• Hardware & Infrastructure Awareness: Basic knowledge of PC imaging, workstation setup, cabling/wiring, and anti-virus software (experience with network equipment troubleshooting is a big plus!).
• Problem-Solving Mindset: Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to research, troubleshoot, and document technical issues quickly.
• Communication & Service: Outstanding customer service, clear communication, and a passion for helping non-technical users solve problems.
• Driver Requirements: Must possess a valid driver's license for periodic local deployment support.
