Job description

SAIC's Horizon program is seeking you, our newest System Administrator to support the U.S. Space Forces mission of delivering warfighter capability via Space Systems Command. You will get to work in Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA.

You will act as a Net/Sys/Client Administrator in support of multiple classified information systems, video teleconference capabilities, Secure Comms, COMSEC, Asset Management, as well as future networks. You will manage the deployment and use of our internal systems and tools. The responsibilities will include expert level knowledge of these systems use and management, handling escalations for issues related to these tools, managing and updating their deployments, and using them to proactively provide ongoing support & maintenance to our existing clients as well as adding and configuring new clients. To be successful in this role, you should have a technical background, be able to focus on the details consistently, and be able to self-pace work.

Fun stuff you will do:

  • Serve as the primary COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO), overseeing the receipt, accountability, safeguarding, distribution, and destruction of all COMSEC material in accordance with applicable policies and procedures to ensure information security and compliance with national directives.
  • Test, analyze, evaluate, validate, and verify systems, identify areas requiring urgent mitigation up front and early to develop systems with advanced technology solutions.
  • Conduct independent comprehensive assessments of the management, operational, and technical security controls and control enhancements employed within or inherited by an information technology (IT) system to determine the overall effectiveness of the controls (as defined in NIST 800-37).
  • Install, maintain and support Windows and Linux network environments to include File Servers, VMWare Virtual Servers, Cisco Switches, Routers and Firewalls.
  • Ensures routine preventative maintenance and license compliance is performed.
  • Implements and manages cybersecurity measures for DoD systems in accordance with IAT Level II requirements, including vulnerability management, system hardening using STIGs, incident response support, and ensuring systems maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) under RMF.

Qualifications

This is you:

  • Bachelor's degree and nine (9) or more years of experience with:
    • Relevant regulations and standards (e.g., Risk Management Framework, National Institute of Standards and Technology,Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide)
    • Identifying and resolving network and system issues
    • Providing support and maintenance for information systems
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II (Information Assurance Technician Level II) approved certification must be currently held. Ex. CompTIA, Security+
  • Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI), adjudicated for SCI eligibility and enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable).
  • Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Programs and willing to consent to a Polygraph examination.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
