We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Systems Administrator (Tier 1), preferably on the East Coast, to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting multiple cloud-hosted tenants and on-premises systems. You will serve as a first point of contact for escalated issues, providing critical support to ensure seamless operations across our infrastructure. SGS IT covers a broad range of time zones, and the team must be willing to work after hours when necessary to meet deadlines and address emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier 1 helpdesk support, troubleshooting issues related to workstations, servers, and systems.
- Assist in the implementation and management of Microsoft cloud services, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra, Defender, InTune, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.
- Conduct asset management, including inventory tracking, warranty management, and lifecycle classification.
- Support users with workstation and desktop configurations, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Manage user accounts and permissions through O365 Entra and related systems.
- Participate in cloud and on-premises migrations, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
- Assist with network configurations, including DNS, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Support disaster recovery initiatives, including backups and archival strategies.
- Maintain documentation of processes, configurations, and system diagrams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve technical challenges.
- Ensure NIST, ISO, and CMMC compliance is always enforced and reviewed.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft 365 implementations and support.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for workstation and server issues.
- Understanding of O365 Entra, including domain management and user permissions.
- Knowledge of cloud services, including Azure, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Exposure to networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS configuration, and VPNs.
- Ability to manage helpdesk ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk, ServiceNow, ManageEngine) and project management tools (e.g., Asana).
- Proficient in operating systems: Apple Mac, Linux, and Microsoft Windows.
- Understanding of security best practices and data management principles.
- Basic understanding of NIST, ISO, and CMMC compliance.
