EVOTEK, Inc. is seeking a System Administrator to join the FAA-focused E-IDS team. You will design and administer enterprise thin client VDI infrastructure and support 10ZiG Zero Clients across facilities, delivering reliable desktop experiences to controllers.

You will develop scripts to automate tasks, manage network and server hardware, and implement patch management for endpoints. Travel up to ~10% may be required in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar field.
• A two-year Certificate of Training may substitute for the AS degree depending on experience.
• 9 years of experience in relevant roles is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and administer enterprise thin client VDI infrastructure as second level engineering support.
• Organize lifecycle of 10ZiG Zero Client endpoints and master images.
• Optimize VDI configuration and pools for seamless user experiences.
• Support deployments and create deployment instructions for first level operators.
• Optimize connection to Omnissa Horizon VDI infrastructure and storage with tuning.
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate system tasks and configuration management.
• Manage and maintain network and hardware infrastructure including servers, cabling, and lab systems.
• Execute enterprise-wide patch management for endpoints and lab hardware.
• Monitor and maintain hardware inventory throughout its lifecycle.

As a System Administrator, you will join our Enterprise-Information Display System (E-IDS) team supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The team supports the FAA’s Enterprise Information Display System (E-IDS) platform, which replaces multiple legacy Information Display Systems (IDSs) in over 500 air traffic control facilities. It provides static and real-time consolidated data to controllers, including weather, airport runway status/visibility, maps, and facility directives aimed at improving efficiency.

Job Duties

• Design and administer enterprise thin client VDI infrastructure as second level engineering support by:
• Organize the lifecycle of 10ZiG Zero Client (thin client) endpoints (or equivalent) and master images.
• Optimize VDI thin client configuration, VDI pool to ensure seamless user experiences.
• Support operational deployments and facility configurations, such as creating instructions for first level support operators to deploy the thin clients.
• Optimize connection to Omnissa Horizon VDI infrastructure and virtual machine storage, ensuring performance tuning, system hardening and seamless desktop delivery to endpoints.
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate system tasks and configuration management.
• Manage and maintain network and hardware infrastructure, such server racking, cable, and lab systems, such as 10ZiG Zero Clients, Raritan Dominion KVMs and ZPE Console servers.
• Execute enterprise-wide patch management strategies for all endpoints and lab hardware.
• Monitor and maintain hardware inventory throughout its lifecycle.

Education & Experience Requirement

• Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Programming or similar science/technology degree.

OR

• A Certificate of Training in a two-year Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Programming or similar curriculum from a community college, vocational education school, or military training may be substituted in lieu of the associate of science degree, depending on other qualifications or experience.
• 9 years of experience is required.

Required

• Design and implement configurations for thin clients, including management of devices such as 10ZiG Zero Clients.
• Design, administer, and configure Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments using VMware Omnissa Horizon.
• Experience with scripting languages, including PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
• Knowledge of enterprise network infrastructure and connectivity.
• Capable of managing responsibilities independently while contributing to team success in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex workflows and adapt to new technologies.
• Professional verbal and written communication.

Preferred

• Working experience in patching, firmware and software asset management systems, hardening version control (e.g. git), server racking, cable management, and maintaining lab environments.
• National Airspace Systems (NAS) experience.

This position may require ~10% travel. It is a full-time position and will generally be in a cubicle environment.
