Job description

Systems Administrator | Up to $120,000 DOE | 3 Days onsite in Boston

We are looking for an experienced Systems Administrator to support a predominantly Microsoft based technology environment across cloud and on premises infrastructure.

The role will focus on maintaining and securing Windows server infrastructure, Microsoft cloud services, identity platforms and endpoint technologies. You will work closely with the wider IT team to support day to day operations, resolve technical issues and contribute to infrastructure improvements. This is a hands on position with responsibility for maintaining a reliable, secure and well documented technology environment.

What you'll do

• Administer and maintain Microsoft Azure and cloud based infrastructure.
• Manage Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, identity, access and security policies.
• Configure and manage Microsoft Intune and endpoint policies.
• Support Microsoft 365, Windows Server and related enterprise technologies.
• Monitor infrastructure and investigate security or performance issues.
• Manage cloud resources, permissions, networking and access controls.
• Support integrations between on premises systems, cloud platforms and third party technologies.
• Administer virtualisation, storage, backup and server infrastructure.
• Perform system upgrades, maintenance, security assessments and remediation.
• Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell and Microsoft APIs.
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis and implement preventative measures.
• Maintain technical documentation, system configurations and infrastructure standards.
• Work with internal teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Provide hands on technical support during business hours and participate in an on call rotation when required.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience supporting Microsoft based IT environments.
• Strong experience with Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Server and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Experience with Intune, endpoint management and identity security.
• Knowledge of Conditional Access, privileged access and modern authentication.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
• Familiarity with cloud security, networking, backup and virtualisation technologies.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and infrastructure best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Comfortable taking a hands on approach to infrastructure support.
• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with wider IT teams.
• Willingness to provide occasional after hours or on call support.
