Job summary

Wabanaki Public Health & Wellness in Bangor, ME seeks a part-time Syringe Pick Up & Outreach Navigator to support the Prevention Team. You will receive reports of syringes and waste, remove waste safely, and assist with outreach, testing, and resource coordination.

Responsibilities include creating cleanup kits, documenting communications in Excel, and participating in community education. Travel within the Bangor area is required; lifting, driving, and certifications will be necessary as part

Qualifications

• 2+ years in substance use prevention or related health fields.
• Strong understanding of Harm Reduction and infection prevention.
• Willing to obtain HIV/HCV screening certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop outreach content with Prevention team and COB.
• Create clean-up kits for Bangor residents and businesses.
• Document emails and calls in Excel and submit monthly reports.
• Respond to calls within 24 hours during business hours.
• Empty syringe boxes in Bangor and report concerns.
• Support outreach events, community cleanups, testing and education.
• Maintain CTR training for HIV/HCV testing and linkage to care.
• Prepare prevention resources and educational materials.
• Attend team check-ins and grantor-required meetings.
• Collaborate with community partners to support programs.
• Other duties as assigned by Prevention Manager, Sage Way leadership.
