Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a Synchronous Motor Technician to disassemble, inspect, reassemble, and test control wheels and excitation systems in motors and generators. You will document condition, follow electrical schematics, and perform initial and final testing with an emphasis on safety and quality.

You will work in a fast-paced shop environment, using balancing equipment and diagnostic software, and collaborate with engineering to resolve synchronization issues while

Qualifications

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude to safely disassemble/assemble industrial components.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting using schematics/diagrams.
• Ability to use handheld electrical test equipment and precision tools.
• Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation and reporting.
• Ability to work safely around energized equipment and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble control wheel and rectifier assemblies with proper orientation and wiring.
• Photograph and document incoming component condition for quality records.
• Clean, prepare, and paint components as needed during repairs.
• Perform low-voltage electrical checks on diodes, SCRs, and related components.
• Follow diagrams to complete reassembly and wiring tasks.
