Sylvan Learning is seeking an energetic Event Ambassador to represent our brand at family-friendly events across Ames, Ankeny, and nearby communities. This part-time role emphasizes friendly outreach and engaging conversations with parents and students during evenings and weekends.
You'll help set up booths, share information about Sylvan programs, collect contact details from interested families, and leave a positive, professional impression at every event. Training provided.
Part-Time | Flexible Evenings & Weekends | $15–$17/hour + Incentives
Are you the kind of person who can walk into a community event and talk to just about
anyone? Do you have an outgoing personality, welcoming smile, and the energy to make people
feel comfortable?
Sylvan Learning is looking for a fun, energetic Event Ambassador to represent us at family-
friendly events throughout Ames, Ankeny, and surrounding communities.
This is a great opportunity for a college student—especially a marketing, communications,
education, or business major—who wants hands‑on experience connecting with families and
representing a well‑known brand.
This is a very flexible, event-based position, so hours will vary from week to week. Some
weeks there may be no scheduled hours, while busier weeks may offer up to approximately 12
hours. Most events take place during evenings and weekends.
$15–$17 per hour, based on experience, plus incentive opportunities for generating qualified
family leads.
No Sylvan experience necessary! We provide training, talking points, event materials,
giveaways, and everything you need to confidently represent Sylvan.
Wants a fun, flexible side job where you aren't stuck behind a desk. If you love people, enjoy
community events, and want real-world marketing and customer engagement experience, we'd
love to meet you!
