Chicago Public Schools is seeking Part-Time Aides to assist with supervising students during non-instructional times before, during, and after the school day. These roles are limited to up to 3.75 hours per day and focus on safe, orderly student activities.
Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and experience supervising children; they should follow written and oral instructions and learn district policies to support a positive school environment.
Beginning in school year 2012-13, schools have been able to utilize a newly created position called Part-Time Aide. This position can be used to assist with the supervision of students during non-instructional activities before, during, and/or after the school day. Part-Time Aides can work for the school, but for no longer than 3.75 hours each day.
Some examples of duties that can be performed by Part-Time Aides include assisting with supervision of students:
Part-Time Aides cannot take on the duties of other clearly defined school-based positions, including but not limited to teacher’s assistants, instructional assistants, special education classroom assistants, children’s welfare attendants, security guards or aides, clerks, etc.
