Summary: The Reading Support Teacher position is designed to provide small group services to students needing supplemental instruction in Reading and the Language Arts.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Provide instruction to small groups of students
  • Assist with educational assessments such as DIBELS
  • Implement and monitor student progress computer-based programs such as i-Ready, Lexia Core, and Read Naturally
  • Meet with supervisors and teachers for planning purposes
  • Write progress notes and collect data
  • Other additional duties may be assigned without additional compensation or stipend
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • MA Teacher Certification or Highly Qualified
  • Strong background in multisensory structured language teaching
  • Basic knowledge of instructional technologies
  • Successful prior teaching experience; 3 or more years preferred, especially in reading or special education
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • Reading Specialist certification, strongly preferred
  • Candidate must be flexible during pandemic times in order to support with remote and hybrid learning models
  • Hours: typically 28 hours per week
  • Position Type: Part-time
