Job summary

Gestalt Community Schools in Memphis is seeking a Middle School English Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. You will design weekly lesson plans, analyze assessment data, and create intervention plans to meet scholars’ needs while integrating technology and project‑based learning.

The role involves collaboration with families, co‑teaching with special educators for IEP/504 students, and participation in weekly professional development.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Tennessee teaching license in English or a middle school endorsement.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher aligned to subject area certification.
• Experience with TVAAS/state assessments/NWEA data preferred.
• Belief that all students can learn at high levels.
• Ability to use digital content, technology, and project‑based learning effectively.
• Ability to work in an extended day environment.
• Experience in inclusion with a co‑teacher (IEP/504).
• Comfort with Mac and PC platforms.

Gestalt Community Schools has an immediate opening for a Middle School English Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027school year! Gestalt Community School teachers design weekly lessons plans, develop standards-based assessments, analyze assessment data, and create intervention plans to meet our scholars' needs. In addition, GCS teachers integrate technology effectively in the classrooms, and implement project-based learning.

Requirements

• Hold a current TN teaching license in English and/or have a middle school endorsement
• Have bacherlor’s degree or higher aligned to subject area certification
• Has a proven track record of academic success as evident in TVAAS, state assessments, NWEA and value ad data (preferred)
• Hold the belief that all students can learn at high academic levels
• Uses digital content, technology integration, and project-based learning in a highly efficient manner
• Have the ability to work in an extended day environment
• Has the ability to teach in an inclusion environment with a co-teacher (if applicable)
• Working knowledge of or ability to learn both the Mac and PC platform
• Offers proven track record in the implementation of blended learning (preferred)
• Excellent communication and written skills
• Team Player who is engaged and is confident in their ability to contribute to a dynamic academic team
