Job summary

Gestalt Community Schools is seeking an English/Language Arts teacher for K–12 prep in Tennessee. The role requires a TN teaching license with endorsement and a bachelor’s degree or higher.

You will design weekly lessons, assess student progress, and develop interventions to raise achievement. Responsibilities include data analysis, technology integration, co-teaching with special educators, and frequent collaboration with parents and colleagues to support scholar growth and a strong school

Qualifications

• Holds a TN English/Language Arts teaching license with endorsement (Required).
• Candidates have a bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Experience with data-driven instruction and TVAAS/state assessments preferred.
• Belief that all students can learn at high levels.
• Proficient use of digital content, technology, and project-based learning.
• Ability to work in an extended day environment.
• Ability to teach in an inclusion setting with a co-teacher.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design weekly lesson plans aligned to curricula and standards.
• Develop standards-based assessments and analyze results.
• Create intervention plans to meet scholars’ needs.

• Work with parents regarding performance and conduct.

Responsibilities

Gestalt Community School teachers design weekly lesson plans, develop standards-based assessments, analyze assessment data, and create intervention plans to meet our scholars' needs. In addition, GCS teachers integrate technology effectively in the classrooms and implement project-based learning. Responsibilities include:

• Knowledge of the Achievement First Curricular and ability to interpret lesson designed
• Teaching scholars a common core based curriculum
• Integrating technology into lessons and plans
• Motivating scholars towards achievement
• Meeting with parents regarding performance and conduct
• Developing scholar improvement plans
• Working with special educators in a co-teaching model for students with IEP plans
• Work planning with school and network teams
• Attending weekly required professional development training
• Create and review student assessments
• Tutoring students/other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Holds a current TN teaching license in English/Language Arts with appropriate endorsement code (Required)
• Have a bachelor’s degree or higher
• Proven track record of academic success as evident in TVAAS, state assessments, and value ad data. (Preferred)
• Hold the belief that all students can learn at high academic levels.
• Uses digital content, technology integration, and project-based learning in a highly proficient manner.
• Have the ability to work in an extended day environment.
• Have the ability to teach in an inclusion environment with a co-teacher.
• Good communication and written skills required.
• A team player with strong interpersonal skills.
