Job summary

AlphaGov is seeking a Sworn Public-Safety Compensation Specialist to lead the sworn public-safety workstream on an active municipal classification and compensation study for the City of Myrtle Beach, SC, with a proposal due early October 2026. Qualifications

• Direct experience with police/fire (sworn) compensation or classification studies.
• Public-sector or public-safety HR consulting background.
• Willingness to work as a 1099 / project-based collaborator with travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead sworn public-safety compensation workstream for police and fire pay-grade structure analysis.
• Conduct sworn-rank market benchmarking against peer municipalities and public-safety agencies.
• Review public-safety classification structures and recommend grade/rank alignments.
• Produce client-ready analytic findings for project lead and proposal team.
• Contribute compensation qualifications and past-performance narrative to proposals when permitted.
