Job summary

AlphaGov in the public-sector consulting space is seeking a Sworn Public-Safety Compensation Specialist to lead the sworn compensation workstream on the City of Myrtle Beach study, with a proposal due early October 2026. This is a remote-first, 1099/project-based engagement with travel as needed to client sites, contingent on contract award.

You will conduct market benchmarking for police and fire pay grades, review structures, and deliver client-ready analyses to the project lead and proposal

Qualifications

• Direct experience with sworn police/fire compensation or classification studies.
• Public-sector or public-safety HR consulting background.
• Comfortable as a 1099/project-based collaborator with travel for client on-sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead the sworn public-safety compensation workstream for police and fire pay-grade structure analysis.
• Conduct sworn-rank market benchmarking against peer municipalities and public-safety agencies.
• Review public-safety classification structures and recommend grade/rank alignments.
• Produce client-ready analytic findings for the project lead and proposal team.
