Job summary

TAPP Workforce Solutions Inc. is seeking an Electrical Wirer in Addison, IL to assemble switchgear panels and wire to schematic diagrams. You will work closely with engineers and QC to ensure every build meets safety, codes, and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You will perform wiring, testing, and troubleshooting across panels and control cabinets, participate in continuous improvement, and assist in training new assemblers while maintaining a safe, organized work area.

Qualifications

• Experience wiring electrical systems and switchgear assemblies.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Proficient with hand and power tools listed (wire strippers, crimpers, drills, screwdrivers).
• Knowledge of electrical standards and codes; strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assemble switchgear panels, control cabinets, and components from drawings and specs.
• Wire circuit breakers, relays, transformers, and busbars to schematics.
• Terminate and connect cables, wires, and components.
• Run continuity and functional tests to verify assemblies.
• Identify and correct wiring or assembly issues; troubleshoot problems.
• Ensure builds meet electrical codes, standards, and quality requirements.
• Follow safety protocols and keep a clean, safe work area.
• Document wiring changes and resolutions for team visibility.
• Keep supervisors informed on progress and challenges.
• Collaborate with engineers, production, and QC to meet deadlines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to boost production efficiency.
• Assist in interviewing and training assemblers.
