Position Summary:

Lincoln Electric Products Co. Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Switchboard QC Technician to ensure the quality, functionality, and compliance of electrical switchboard assemblies. The QC Technician will inspect electrical and mechanical components throughout the production process and conduct final quality assurance testing before products are shipped. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards and customer satisfaction.

This is a full-time, exempt office position reporting directly to the Operations Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Perform detailed inspections of electrical and mechanical assemblies for switchboards, ensuring adherence to engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and industry standards.
  2. Conduct functional testing of electrical components and systems, including continuity, insulation resistance, and mechanical fitment.
  3. Document inspection results and maintain records of quality checks, defects, and corrective actions.
  4. Collaborate with production teams to address non-conformities and assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  5. Ensure all products meet company specifications, applicable codes (NEC, UL), and customer requirements.
  6. Verify proper labeling, torque values, wire terminations, and component installations.
  7. Support continuous improvement efforts in quality assurance processes and suggest improvements where applicable.
  8. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe, clean inspection area.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Electrical Engineering or diploma in electrical systems quality control.
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical assembly testing or quality inspection, preferably in switchgear or switchboard manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical blueprints.
  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeters, megohmmeters).
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Effective communication skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of safety and electrical standards (e.g., UL 891, NEC).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity for handling small components and wiring.
  • Ability to work in a production environment with exposure to electrical equipment.
