Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Switchboard Operator to join our team! This is a full-time, 40-hours benefits-eligible position. Starting pay is $18.25.

The Switchboard Operator is the initial contact for the facility or department and operates a telephone console or switchboard to route incoming calls to the appropriate party. Responsibilities include operating the switchboard, relaying messages, logging calls, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.

Essential Duties:

  • Follow policies and procedures.
  • Operate the telephone console or switchboard.
  • Receive and relay messages.
  • Operate paging systems if needed.
  • Log calls and perform follow-up.
  • Provide information to callers and record messages.
  • Perform clerical duties as required.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and resolve issues.
  • Report accidents and injuries promptly.
  • Protect and secure PHI in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Follow safety policies and participate in safety training.
  • Attend training programs as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
