Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Switchboard Operator to support the U.S. Department of Transportation. You will be the first point of contact for DOT customers, answering and routing calls and providing information from the Switchboard Directory and DOT resources.

Responsibilities include researching intranet resources, maintaining accurate contact data, recording calls in spreadsheets, and training new staff as needed. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 2 years of working experience required.
• Must have 1 year of experience providing customer service support in a business organization.
• Excellent phone skills.
• Top-notch communication and listening skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Experience in a customer service role (preferred).
• Must possess a High School Diploma.
• Degree may be substituted with 2 additional years of related experience.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Switchboard Operator Duties and Responsibilities

• Answer Incoming Calls Switchboard operators answer incoming calls and redirect calls to the appropriate DOT department, using the Switchboard Directory and other DOT resources
• Research the DOT intranet and/or internet to assist with providing the caller with information
