Job summary

Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, part of MaineHealth, seeks a Switchboard Operator to manage telephone communications, greet visitors, and provide patients with information per policy. You will handle paging and alarm systems and support emergency responses in collaboration with clinical teams, security, facilities, and the public.

Schedule: Sat & Sun 8am-6:30pm, on-site position with benefits and professional development opportunities from MaineHealth.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: Related experience, such as customer service or dispatch/switchboard operator, preferred.
• Computer and data entry experience with Word, email, and internet communication preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt and efficient telephone communications between external and internal contacts.
• Manage paging announcements and use the public address system.
• Greet the public and relay information to patients and visitors per policy.
• Support paging system, hospital alarm systems, and emergency responses.

Functions performed also include managing the paging system, hospital alarm systems, and hospital emergency situations. The Switchboard Operator will work closely with clinical care teams, security, facilities, patients and members of the public. May perform or support additional functions within the Patient Access service line and maintain master directory for the organization.

The pay range for this position is $18.36to $21.31 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
