Job summary

Goshen Engineering is seeking a hands-on Switchboard Assembly Supervisor to lead an Electrical Assembly Technician team within Production. This role guides safe, efficient, and quality-focused switchboard assembly aligned with drawings and work instructions.

The supervisor will coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Materials, and other groups to resolve issues, monitor progress, and develop staff. On-site, full-time role offering growth in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing, electrical assembly, or related production environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, assembly drawings, and production documentation, and to use measuring devices, hand tools and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting, communication, and ability to follow approved processes and documentation.
• Ability to direct employees, monitor progress, and coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality, materials, and control wiring.
• Leadership skills with coaching, feedback, training, and accountability.
• Regular on-site presence; ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and coordinate the work of Electrical Assembly Technician I-III and Leads.
• Plan and prioritize switchboard assembly work based on orders, drawings, and material needs.
• Monitor workmanship, fit, alignment, and compliance with drawings and instructions.
• Ensure quality checks and production records are completed; address defects and deviations.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Materials and other teams to resolve issues affecting schedule or quality.
• Track progress, labor use, and workflow; address delays or bottlenecks as needed.
• Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and development for technicians.
• Maintain production, quality, labor, and records; uphold safety and housekeeping standards.
• Ensure availability of drawings, materials, tools, and resources for scheduled work.
• Work with Engineering and Quality to resolve technical or quality questions promptly.

About The Role

Goshen Engineering is seeking a hands-on Switchboard Assembly Supervisor to directly supervise an assigned Switchboard Assembly team within Production and support the safe, efficient, and quality-focused assembly of switchboards and integrated electrical systems. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role leads Electrical Assembly Technician I-III employees and designated Leads, plans and prioritizes work, monitors production and quality, develops employees, and coordinates resources and technical support needed to meet production and delivery expectations.

What You’ll Do

• Directly supervise and coordinate the work of Electrical Assembly Technician I-III employees and designated Leads within the assigned Switchboard Assembly subdepartment.
• Review production orders, schedules, drawings, and material requirements to plan and prioritize switchboard assembly work, establishing work sequences that support production, quality, and delivery expectations.
• Monitor switchboard assembly work for workmanship, fit, alignment, component placement, and compliance with approved drawings, work instructions, and production requirements.
• Ensure required quality checks and production records are completed and address defects, deviations, rework, or missing information identified during assembly.
• Coordinate with Production Management, Engineering, Quality, Materials, Control Wiring, and other functions to resolve production needs, material issues, drawing questions, and changes that could affect schedule or quality.
• Monitor production progress, productivity, labor allocation, and workflow; identify delays, bottlenecks, or resource needs and take appropriate action or escalation as needed.
• Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, training, feedback, and performance support and help employees progress through the Electrical Assembly Technician I-III and Lead structure.
• Maintain required production, quality, labor, and work records and applicable business systems.
• Reinforce safe work practices, housekeeping, quality standards, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the assigned subdepartment.
• Coordinate availability of required drawings, materials, tools, equipment, and other resources needed to support scheduled work.
• Work with Engineering and Quality to address technical or quality issues affecting switchboard assembly and support timely resolution of production questions or changes.

What You’ll Bring

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing, electrical assembly, industrial assembly, or a related production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and related production documentation and use measuring devices, hand tools, and power tools appropriate to assigned work.
• Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting, communication, and ability to follow approved processes and documentation requirements.
• Ability to provide direction to employees, monitor production progress, and coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to work effectively with production, engineering, quality, materials, control wiring, and other internal personnel.
• Knowledge of electrical equipment assembly, integrated electrical systems, production processes, drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements.
• Strong leadership and employee-development skills, including clear direction, coaching, feedback, training, and accountability.
• Ability to coordinate staffing, work priorities, schedules, materials, tools, and other resources and resolve or escalation production, assembly, quality, material, and workflow issues.
• Regular on-site physical presence is required; ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, bend/reach/stoop/kneel/push/pull/grasp, lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds, and safely use computers, office equipment, tools, machinery, testing equipment, and measuring devices required for assigned duties.
• Ability to work in manufacturing, office, shop, warehouse, production, and customer-site environments as required; additional hours, weekend work, or travel may be required based on production, project, customer, or other business needs.

Preferred

• Prior experience supervising or leading electrical assembly or manufacturing employees.
• Experience assembling electrical equipment, switchboards, or integrated electrical systems.
• Experience with documented quality checks, production records, and coordination of materials and work schedules.
