Who We Are:
Opti Staffing is partnering with a company that specializes in the highest-quality HPLC, UHPLC, and LC/MS analytical products. They are looking for an experienced Swiss Turning Machinist & Programmer to join their manufacturing team and play a key role in producing high-precision components.
What You’ll Do:
- Set up and operate Swiss-style CNC turning equipment.
- Program, edit, and optimize CNC programs for Swiss turning applications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Select appropriate tooling, workholding, and cutting parameters.
- Set up machines for both new and repeat production runs.
- Make offsets and program adjustments to maintain tight dimensional requirements.
- Inspect completed parts using precision measuring equipment.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues.
- Optimize cycle times, tooling life, and machining processes.
- Work with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation.
- Monitor parts throughout production to ensure they meet quality requirements.
- Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and consistency.

What You Need to Have:
- Previous experience operating and setting up Swiss CNC turning machines.
- Strong CNC machining and programming experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Strong understanding of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining processes.
- Experience making machine offsets and program adjustments.
- Ability to use precision inspection equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining quality and production standards.
The Musts:
- Proven Swiss turning experience.
- Ability to independently set up Swiss CNC machines.
- Ability to program and edit CNC programs.
- Strong blueprint reading and measurement skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot machining and programming issues.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
Preferred:
- Experience with multi-axis Swiss turning equipment.
- Experience programming from scratch rather than solely editing existing programs.
- Familiarity with tight-tolerance, high-precision machining.
- Experience working with small, complex components.
- Experience in medical, aerospace, laboratory, or other precision manufacturing environments.
- CNC programming experience with G-code and/or CAM software.
