Job summary

MOHR Talent is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer / Process Engineer to support Swiss lathe operations in Grand Rapids. The role focuses on programming, process development, and continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, quality, and yield in a precision manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has extensive Swiss lathe programming experience and strong process engineering capabilities, enabling hands-on optimization and mentoring of operators working with advanced CNC technology.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of experience programming Swiss CNC lathes.
Experience using Esprit CAD/CAM software.
Strong understanding of machining principles and process development.
Ability to independently optimize machining processes.
Solid GD&T and blueprint reading skills.
Experience with aerospace/medical manufacturing environments preferred.

Responsibilities

Program and set up Swiss-style CNC lathes using Esprit CAD/CAM.
Develop and optimize machining processes for complex components.
Select tooling, feeds, speeds, and cutting parameters for efficiency and quality.
Create and maintain machining documentation, setup instructions, and process standards.
Support new product introductions through process development and validation.
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity and cycle time.
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process issues.
Train operators on processes and best practices.
Read blueprints and GD&T, collaborate with Engineering and Quality.
