Primesourceexternalcareers is seeking a Machinist 2 to operate Citizen Swiss-type CNC lathes and produce high-precision components. This role requires setting up machines, applying offsets, and performing inspections with precision tools to ensure part conformity.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of experience with Citizen Swiss-style CNC machines, can read engineering drawings, and work with minimal supervision while maintaining quality and efficiency in a 40-hour week.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
2–5 years of experience operating Citizen Swiss-style CNC machines.
Proficient in blueprint reading and precision inspection.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate Citizen Swiss-type CNC lathes to produce tight-tolerance parts.
Interpret drawings and work orders to determine machining operations.
Adjust machine settings, perform offsets, and change tooling as required to maintain part specifications.
Inspect in-process and finished parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and optical comparators.
Maintain accurate production records, including job travelers and inspection logs.
Collaborate with quality control and engineering to optimize processes and resolve issues.
Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines and tooling.
Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities for efficiency, tool life, and cycle time.
Train entry-level machinists when needed.
