Job summary

Software Placement Group in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Swiss CNC Applications Engineer to guide turnkey projects, run demonstrations, and train customers on Swiss-style lathes and multi-tasking machines. This full-time, on-site role includes travel to customer sites.

Candidates should have experience with Sliding Headstock CNC machines, knowledge of Fanuc controls, and the ability to develop proposals, estimates, and technical reports while supporting pre-sale activities and on-site

Qualifications

• Experience in Sliding Headstock (Swiss) CNC machine tool related engineering and manufacturing.
• In-depth knowledge of the machine tool industry and the product lines represented by the company.
• Knowledge of Fanuc based controls.
• Able to think quickly, assess a situation, and make a sound decision.

Responsibilities

• Run turnkey projects, demonstrations, and other customer-related projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget
• Conduct pre-sale activities and reviews including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment and recommendations, part processing recommendations, and development of turnkey proposals
• Develop and implement custom demonstrations and train customers in the safe set-up and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss style lathes, and/or multi-tasking machines
• Conduct training of customers in the safe set-up and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss style lathes, and/or multi-tasking machines
• Prepare accurate cost estimates, write engineering reports, and interpret plans and specifications
• Travel to customer sites for on-site training and engineering assistance

Overview

A manufacturer and distributor in the CNC machine tool industry is seeking a Swiss CNC Applications Engineer to support customer-facing engineering, training, and turnkey project work. This role is critical to ensuring customers can successfully implement and operate complex CNC machining solutions, including Swiss-style lathes and multi-tasking machines.

What you'll do
