Job summary

Crook County is seeking a School Custodian for a swing shift in the Maintenance location. The role supports a clean and safe school environment for students, with duties including general cleaning, restrooms, floors, and occasional minor maintenance.

The position reports to the Lead Custodian and requires the ability to lift up to 60 lbs, stand/walk long periods, and perform duties during 260 days/year. Pre-employment drug screening and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Reads, understands, and follows written or oral instructions.
• Ability to relate well to students, staff and the public.
• Adherence to a drug-free work place policy.
• Able to perform custodial functions with reasonable physical effort.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties such as sweeping, scrubbing, washing, and polishing floors; vacuum rugs and carpets.
• Clean and dust walls, furniture, woodwork, and other surfaces.
• Clean windows, glass, drinking fountains, sinks, blinds; empty waste containers and replace bulbs.
• Assist in moving furniture and set up/clean cafeteria as needed.
• Perform minor maintenance and repair of custodial equipment and report hazards.
