Job summary

Corning Inc / Sorenson BioScience in Murray, Utah, is seeking a maintenance technician to repair molding machines and support equipment on a full-time swing shift (Mon-Fri, 3:00 am–11:30 pm). You will perform mechanical and electrical repairs, read prints, troubleshoot equipment, ensure correct set-up, follow safety procedures, and mentor junior technicians as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret prints.
• Must adhere to safety standards and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Complete molding machine and support equipment repair.
• Repair mold, press, and support equipment mechanically, pneumatically, hydraulically, or electrically.
• Read prints to perform minor repairs on molding machines.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Verify proper set-up of molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
• Train/mentor new technicians.
• Maintain accurate documentation.
• Follow safety standards including Lock-Out/Tag-Out and Zero-Energy.

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY & FUNCTIONS: The purpose of this position is: to complete molding machine and support equipment repair.

This position includes significant duties such as:

• Completes minor mold, press, and support equipment repair including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and/or electrical maintenance
• Reads prints to make minor repairs on molding machines and associated sub-systems
• Provides basic technical support for troubleshooting equipment problems
• Verifies the correct set-up of molding machines and auxiliary equipment before processing
• Works with hand tools, lockout/tagout, chemicals, etc., demonstrating proper safety precautions
• Ensures accuracy and good documentation practices per company standards
• Complies with safety standards including Lock-Out/Tag-Out and Zero-Energy
• Trains/mentors new technicians in department
• Performs other duties as required to meet the needs of the department and company

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED required

Experience: 1 – 2 yrs experience in mechanical and electrical area; experience with basic tools

Additional Information

Working Conditions: Lifts, pushes, pulls or moves equipment and machinery up to 35 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
