Job summary

Torus is expanding its Salt Lake City footprint with a Swing Shift Manufacturing Engineer to support BESS and FESS production, troubleshoot equipment, and improve manufacturing efficiency.

The role requires Lean manufacturing expertise, experience with PLCs/HMIs, SolidWorks, CNC, and metal fabrication, with compensation in the $80k–$120k range and a 10% shift differential. On-site in Salt Lake City, UT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and motion systems.
• Experience designing tooling, jigs and fixtures using SolidWorks.
• Experience optimizing production processes.
• Experience programming CNC equipment.
• Experience with metal fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain production equipment including Waterjets, Fiber Lasers, Bending Equipment, and CNCs.
• Assist with Design Validation Testing and Prototype builds.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs.
• Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements and conferring with vendors.
• Improve efficiency by planning workflow, space, and equipment layout.
• Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods.
• Provide cost insights by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
• Prepare product and process reports by analyzing information and trends.
• Lead in Design For Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Complete other tasks as necessary.
